Privacy Policy for Robot72

Last Updated: June 25, 2026

Introduction

Thank you for using Robot72 (“the App”). Robot72 is an iOS application for encoding and decoding SSTV (Slow-Scan Television) signals, allowing users to transmit and receive images via audio.

We value your privacy. All image processing and audio encoding/decoding happen entirely on your device. The only information that leaves your device is the network traffic required by our advertising provider, Google AdMob, to serve the optional rewarded video ads described below.

Data Collection and Use

  1. On-device processing: Robot72 itself does not collect, store, or share your personal information. All SSTV encoding and decoding happens on your device.

  2. Microphone Access: The App requests access to your device’s microphone solely for the purpose of receiving and decoding SSTV audio signals. Audio is processed in real-time on your device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to any server.

  3. Photo Library Access: The App may request access to your photo library only when you choose to save decoded images or select images for transmission. This access is entirely under your control.

  4. Local Storage: Your decoded images, transmission history, and settings are stored locally on your device.

  5. No Developer Backend: We do not operate a backend server. We cannot access your images, audio, or history.

Advertising

Robot72 uses Google AdMob to display optional rewarded video ads. These ads appear only when a free user chooses to watch one in order to temporarily unlock a Pro feature (such as a Pro SSTV mode for a single send). There are no banner ads and no interstitial/pop-up ads.

To deliver these ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect device and usage information (for example a device identifier, coarse or IP-based location, and ad-interaction data).

We have configured AdMob to serve non-personalized ads only. Robot72 does not use Apple’s Advertising Identifier (IDFA), does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

For details on how Google handles this data, see Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

In-App Purchases

Robot72 offers a one-time in-app purchase (“Robot72 Pro”) to unlock additional features and remove ads. Payment is processed securely through Apple’s App Store via your Apple ID.

  • We do not have access to your full payment information. Apple provides us with limited transaction data (such as purchase confirmation) necessary to deliver the purchased features.
  • Family Sharing is supported and managed by Apple.

Third-Party Services

Data Security

  • Your images, audio, and history are processed and stored locally on your device.
  • The App uses Apple’s secure storage mechanisms (e.g., Keychain) where appropriate.
  • Aside from the ad requests described in the Advertising section, the App does not transmit your data over the internet.

Children’s Privacy

This App is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads served in the App are non-personalized.
